Sherry Moreau
Professional Development Officer
Sherry Moreau is an Anishnaabe woman originating from Michipicoten First Nation, Wawa, Ontario. Ms. Moreau has just been hired at the NCFNG as a Professional Development Officer. Raised and educated in Sudbury, ON., Sherry has also lived in Kenora and Timmins; both in Ontario. Sherry has developed extensive networks and contacts throughout her career serving as a business counselor and educator, public servant, commercial lender, consultant and paralegal. Formally educated at Laurentian University in Sudbury, ON,(B.A.) and Nipissing University, North Bay ON, (B.Ed.), she has been involved in her community as a Trustee, Board member for various friendship centres and other non-profit organizations, as well as a volunteer coach, manager and fundraiser. Her career has been dedicated to the fields of community economic development and education. On a personal note, Sherry is the proud mother of two teenage sons, and has been actively involved in their sporting activities throughout their lives. She boasts a large family that consists of her parents, four siblings and 35 nieces and nephews. Sherry enjoys playing hockey, traveling and a living healthy and active lifestyle as a member of Goodlife Fitness. Whenever possible, she attends powwows and traditional gatherings to hear the drum and dance jingle. She is grateful for the many traditional mentors she has met on her life journey and continues to be inspired and guided by the Anishnaabe teachings.
